Probably not, I'm forced to take the class along with many other useless classes that will not have an impact on any carrer path I choose. UGH I HATE SCHOOL

I think everyone should be required to take an introductory course in school.
Either that or sign away their right to vote.
50% of government platforms are based on economics - taxation policy, balanced budgets vs deficits, trade agreements, rent control, minimum wages, etc. People really need a basic understanding of these things to be prepared to make reasonable voting decisions.

Yes, you use economics everyday - when you go to Wal-Mart and buy a candy bar you are using a part of economics.

It depends on what you plan to study in the future. If you intend to do sciences, then no, stats may be better. Economics are for people doing math, business, etc...
