Tulip, your avatar suggests that you are very young, so take my advice (as some one who is actually quite old!) and don't let ageing worry you yet. Aim to enjoy life in all its facets while you are still young, fit and healthy. It passes by so swiftly, believe me - and perversely, the older you get the speedier it seems to go! The main thing is to try your best to keep an optimistic outlook, and _always_ have a reason to want to get out of bed in the morning.

Since I am 60 years old now, I know I am really getting older.
In 20-25 years the odds of me still being alive are pretty slim. I don't think about it alot unless I am feeling depressed in general, then I start thinking about it and all the ways I may have wasted opportunities, etc. Guess there is absolutely nothing we can do about getting older, (except commit suicide, of course, which would guarantee you won't get older...)so the best way I've found to get rid of those feelings is to try to find something I have fun doing and do it. If you think you are depressed about this and other things, talk to your doctor. There is help for feeling depressed all the time, and you'd be silly to suffer in silence, when you could get some help and enjoy your life while you have it. "This is the day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it..."

Do you know what the best thing is to do when you get those feelings about 'really getting older', you stop thinking about them, you brush yourself down and pick yourself up and start all over again, life is far too short to be thinking about been older, your a spring chicken and should be larking about with the best of them, I'm 50 at Christmas and I am by no means old yet and don't want to be before my time either, I have on occasions had to stop and listen to myself sounding like my mom when she was tutting at something outrageous that a young person was doing, it brings you back to reality when you start the tutting, just enjoy your spring chicken days while you have them and stop worrying about getting older OK.

Yes! I'm only 26, but I notice such a difference in some of the things I do and say now to 5 years ago...I guess it's just cos responsibilities change - you have a responsible job, a house, blah blah blah.
I really noticed it tonight at this evening class I'm doing...I was talking to this girl who'd just left school and she said "You're 10 years older than me!" (how nice of her to point it out) I hadn't realised I was 10 years older than anybody - other than small children!!
To deal with it I just enjoy the wisdom I have with being a bit older, and the confidence too....I love being young, and I loved the freedom of early 20's, but I suppose you have to let go and enjoy what's to come!
Good question : )

Never. As you get older you grow and evolve. Getting old is good. Somebody who is forty has twice the the experience as someone who is twenty. Somebody who is sixty has three times the experience. Somebody who is eighty has four times the experience.
Now, if you look at this in terms of computers and you were out to buy one which one would you go for ? The basic model or one with a whole wealth of programmes.

getting older is an unavoidable fact, so i intend to get old gracefully. Staying active, pay more attention to my health, stay in touch with what the younger heads are into, and increase in wisdom. I think females have more of problem dealing with old age than males because the status quo writes them off as unsexy.

Yesterday, my husband and I saw two young girls walking through the high street with hardly any clothes on and looking really tarty. We looked at each other and tutted our disapproval. Fortunately, we then realised just how ridiculous we were and laughed that at the ripe old age of 35, we have already become old gits!

When I was young I worried about getting old.
Later I did not have time for such petty concerns.
I am now 62 and beginning to get the hand of what its all about.
Thanks for the question.

Yep... and only when I'm kind of depressed or like unable to make something work. But that's not as often as you might imagine. Most of the time, I don't feel old... but younger. That's because I love watching cartoons, especially with my children... I never grow old with it.

Oh yes, every time I have to run!
But after the age of 30 something happens and you stop caring about getting older. You just become comfortable in your own skin!
