Put an elbow on the dryer vent, that will direct it to the side.

some models do have a knockout on the side of the dryer
i recommend hard pipe or flexible aluminum
Homo-depot, Lowe's sells 30 guage metal duct
i do advise you not to use accordion style venting since this can catch lint and cause a fire

I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY RESIDENTIAL DRYERS WITH SIDE VENTING .YOU CAN INSTALL A 90 DEGREE ELBOW AND VENT IT AROUND THE SIDE.BUT MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE PIPE EVERY NOW AND THEN .BECAUSE WHEN YOU INSTALL ELBOWS IT CREATES RESTRICTIONS TO THE AIR FLOW THUS CAUSING BLOCKAGES
