Buckeyes are those inedible round brown nuts the size of a golf ball with a big white spot on them that fall from, well, Buckeye trees, I guess. They are pretty soft, we used to stick toothpicks in them to make animals. A big sewing needle and a thick thread is all you need.

Like any necklace you'll need beads, string and a clasp. Buckeyes are fairly large so I would choose complimentary beads at 1/2 to 1/4 the size of the buckeye. Then lay them flat and arrange the pattern you like, begin beading. The length due to the size of the buckeye should be no less than 18" but you could make it longer and double it. I saw one once with charms and I thought that was a good addition. Just use your imagination and I am sure it will be lovely.
