I can't think of any songs about smiling meteors.

Okay, how about Love is like a hurricane?
Or...Like a rock.
Hey, wait...is this someone's homework?

Candle in the Wind by ELTON JOHN - tribute to Princess Diana

Goodbye England's Rose
May you ever grow in our hearts.
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
And you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to heaven,
And the stars spell out your name.

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind:
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
Along England's greenest hills;
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will.

Loveliness we've lost;
These empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
For our nation's golden child.
And even though we try,
The truth brings us to tears;
All our words cannot express
The joy you brought us through the years.

Goodbye England's Rose,
From a country lost without your soul,
Who'll miss the wings of your compassion
More than you'll ever know.

Metaphors saying Diana is England's Rose, golden child, implied metaphor that she is an angel or a bird (the wings of your compassion)
Simile: lived your life like a candle in the wind

I Am A Rock by PAUL SIMON

A winter's day-
in a deep and dark December
I am alone-
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
I am a rock, I am an island.

I've built walls,
A fortress deep and mity
That none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship
friendship causes pain
It's laughter and loving I disdain
I am a rock, I am an island

Don't talk of love
but I've heard the word before
It's sleeping in my memory
I won't disturb the slumber of the feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried
I am a rock, I am an island

I have my books
and my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armour
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb,
I touch no one and no one touches me.

I am a rock, I am an island
And a rock feels no pain, and an island never cries.

Metaphor: Singer saying he is a rock or an island (cut off from connections to other people, or a non-human entity), sort of implied metaphor or implied simile that he is like a knight "shielded in my armor"

There are a couple of good ones for you.

I don't know any song that has lots of them, but "Like a Rock" by Bob Seeger would work.

Similies use the "something" is LIKE "something else"--e.g., my love is like a cherry that has no stone, my love is like a chicken that has no bone...

Metaphors say that "something" IS "something else"...

Similies are easier to determine (as evidenced by my drawing a blank on a metaphor example...)
