a good friend of mine works graveyard shift stocking at a grocery store. he works with two other men who are both married with small children; the men are in their mid 20's. recently it came about that these men are both having sex with a fellow female co-worker (who is 18) in the store at night. they are all doing it with each other at the same time in the meatlocker where meat is cut and prepared for sale to the community! the girl works days and shows up at night, they all disappear together for long periods of time. also they were all just seen by another, separate co-worker (not my friend); the three were unaware of being seen. how many people actually know about it is unknown, however no one so far has reported it or spoken up about it. my friend is young and very non-confrontational, and does not want to be labeled a "tattletale". however we both feel this is despicable and something must be done. he would like to keep his job there, benefits and good pay. what to do?

I believe someone in upper management should be told.
Could he tell them anonymously? This is very nasty to have sex next to the same pot roast some unsuspecting mom is going to feed her family. Not to mention these guys have families.

I think your friend should find an anonymous way of telling -- email from a dummy account, phone message left with no name, a note slipped under an exec's door. Something.
And I say this not for the moral, ethical-ness of what's going on with married men fooling around with a girl (that happens all the time everywhere), but these folks are stealing company money by playing around while getting paid -- and what an icky health code violation!
If your friend's employer has an EEOC office, he can report what he knows anonymously -- they are required to keep the source of the violations of company policy anonymous if they are asked to.

The store manager will be very interested and discrete if he's told. He can let the manager know without identifying himself if he'd rather. Just a phone call or note with no identification will get the job done.

Not only could he do it without any repercussions, (hence the whistle blower policy at most places of employment) it is his moral obligation to tell someone. Not only is this a moral violation it is a health violation, besides what kinds of diseases do you think they might be passing back and forth to each other let alone spouses.....

Tell him to find out the customer service number and call. Tell them he works there but would like to remain anonymous.
