stress drinking smoking pot and so on can alter your erection or cause you to not even have one and thier is all sorts of other things such as high blood pressure and other medical reasons too.. To have him last longer try to take your time and not just jump right into sex forplay is great and then when its time for sex have him go at it slow and have him know his body first off and the felling he gets right before he cums and have him stop for a while and just relaxe untill the felling passes and then right at it again and he should last for a while then and you can always keep doing this and if you want to look it up on the net its called edgeing or somthing like that and it works..

All of those things you mentioned can hinder your ability to get an erection. Different for different guys. Ever heard of whiskey dick?
As far as maintaining an erection. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. some men do better on the second round. And of course as already mentioned ..masturbation before sex.
When you are alone and masturbating...try different techniques to keep you from getting off.
