I think it all has to do with people need something to do with their time and everyone is nosey! Everyone wants to know or think they know whats going on in every ones lives. I would be lying if i said that i wasn't guilty of being nosey. I also think that alot of it has to do with Jealousy!

cause workers don't have anything better to do than that. most people gossip and make life difficult for others it's because they are inferior. usually these people will only gossip about good workers (or workers that has better life than them), so rather than working hard and smart to achieve a life and career they starts to gossip and trying their best to destroy peoples' reputation.
people used to gossip and spread rumors about me so much at work - that i call back stabbing as well but who cares with all the gossip apart of themselves? it did not influence me at all but other than continue to work smart with my career and improve myself cause at the end of the day my performances speaks louder than their gossips! i'm not the loser cause i do not waste my time to develop my career and all they know at the end of the day is how much they have been left behind and having the promotions opportunity to by pass them!

cause work is inane innocuous mundane and boring most of the time.......................gossip is the cayanne pepper of the tedious work day
