See http://www.spaceweather.com

It shows a Coronal hole happening on the sun, and there may be an auroral display around the 20th.

The Aurora Australis is often visible from New Zealand, Tasmania, Argentina and Chile.

* South hemisphere: http://www.sec.noaa.gov/pmap/pmapS.html
