I honestly think that it will escalate, but not in the way that everyone fears. Kim Jong IL is nuts, but he's not stupid... he realizes that there are several major players looking at him right now, each of which has the capability of wiping his country from the map. I equate him with a child who's testing his parents to see how much he can get by with before getting spanked. His nuclear capability is minimal at present, but if he persists in these "tests", I think that sooner or later we will likely be doing some sort of police action there, in conjunction with another international coalition and/or the UN with the aim of neutralizing NK's nuclear capacity. Thanks a lot, President Clinton, for giving him those shiny new reactors...

One way or another Iran is involved. More than likely north Korea will threaten the south for reunification or be attacked by the north in war.If they do not comply and force the united states out they will attack it's ports and infrastructure until they submit or suffer more strikes.I'm not nervous about laying waste to North Korea. It would be best for China to stay out of this fight this time or we'll push them back to where they were 200 years ago. To hell with their Olympics. It's not North Korea's Pansy leader it's their arrogant old military.

I've been nervous about N.K. ever since Clinton, relying on Jimmy "The Dunce" Carter's judgement, gave them a couple of reactors. N.K.'s leadership has always been erratic, even when I was there back in the 50s. Their troops were more sensible than the govt. But I'm sure they couldn't reach Hawaii, much less California, with any of their missiles. China is modernizing faster than we know, and I'm quite sure they will sit on N.K. before they let it screw up a good deal. China does not want to have to handle the refugees that will be coming their way if N.K. tosses a nuke at somebody.

This is a difficult situation. Even if the global community threatens N Korea with sanctions...how much can you take away from a country that has so little.
I'm not that nervous. I think war is unwanted on both sides, and this time around, more nations seem to be on our side. Only time will tell.

i think china will step in before it escalate or before the us drop their bombs . you have to remember north Korea don't have the technology yet to put a war head on a missile they can't even get one out over the ocean yet so north Korea is no threat to the USA only to japan and south Korea .every one afraid they can attack the USA that not true . let's hope there is peace made

I think Bush will stick his nose in again and get our young people killed just like Iraq! these people from different country,s are hate mongers and know only 1 thing , to hate people from the USA because we are free and most of us are living a good life. If the USA is threatened do what the President in WW11 did to Japan! ,That will stop them! I am sick and tired of theUSA butting in ,Lets spend the money on our people here, and save lives!

Why do you think he is acting erratically? India, pakistan, China, Russia, USA, British, etc. Have the bomb.
If everyone on the block had a gun and hated me but I didn't have one. what would I do? Seriously?
They are trying to say, "Leave me alone" They probably see what happened in Iraq when they were being helped?
