i have four usb ports which wont work i have been told you can buy a card or something that can be attached to the laptop that has usb ports on it can anyone advise they said it costs £25 but want to charge another £30 for installing it can i do it myself

Yes, you can buy a PC Card or Cardbus, or PCMCIA card (what ever you want to call it) and use that for USB. Double check drivers and patches for your laptop though, USB ports don't die all that often, it could be a software issue. If you do purchase a card installing it yourself shouldn't be to hard. if the usb ports have failed on the laptop, and if u have pcmcia slot u can get a pcmcia usb card and to that u can attach a usb bus to connect more usb devices.

no have you checked you drivers are ok?
have you re installed them and also which part of britian do you live in im a traveling techie
