Correct answer...sleep well tonight. The missiles and technology that they currently have in place make it VERY unlikely that they could even hit Hawaii, much less the continental US. As it stands right now, they can barely make it to the Pacific Ocean, much less with any accuracy. The major threats are to South Korea, Japan, and China. It also has not been yet proven that they are able to actually attach the nuclear warhead yet... so if you are in the US you have little if anything to fear. Plus, if this escalates you'll have nothing whatsoever to fear, as any US-or coalition-led strike would neutralize their nuclear capability in short order.

N. Korean missiles are unlikely to come close to the US, but Japan and S. Korea are certainly threatened. N. Korea has extensive drug and counterfeit smuggling operations. The ships and submarines used to smuggle drugs could also be used to smuggle a nuke. N. Korea is playing a game of nuclear blackmail with the objective of extorting resources from richer countries. Since we must not underestimate our enemies, we must assume that N. Korea has already hidden nukes near several cities prior to a public announcement. Interesting times lie ahead.

Korea is probably about 8,000 miles from the west coast of the US. The only missiles they have that are reliable are relatively short range but they still pose a threat to Seoul and possibly Japan.

It is unknown how far a Korean missile can shoot, however they have done tests on missiles that could reach the west coast. These tests failed, however.
Also, it is unknown if North Korea has the technology to place a nuke within a missile.

if korea were to choose the shortest distance to the US, it would be to california, but they don't have the capability. earlier this year, they tested a long-range missile that was only airborne for a minute. see the cnn link and read more.

The closest thing that they can shoot (if they could) that is within US territory would be Guam, followed by Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands.

here's the thing: N. Korea IS NOT trying to blow up anyone or country...
therefore, it doesn't matter. they should have protection... and that's nuclear weapon.
did iraq have nuclear weapon? NOPE, and Bush f ucking knows it too. He invaded iraq claiming that they do, but when a country really does have it, he's too scared.
N. Korea is smart... at least smarter than the US.
