The political term "Dominion" was coined by the Canadian Fathers of Confederation who were looking to give their experiment in self governance within the Empire a distinctive name that worked for both Britain and their American neighbours. Considering the recent American Civil War, the idea of using names like " the Confederation of Canada" or "the Canadian Confederacy" were out despite the fact we continue to use them as a verb to describe the foundation of our country. Then of course there was the option prefered by more conservative politicians to call it the "Kingdom of Canada" but again that was dropped as something offensive to both British and American sensibiities. In the end, the term "Dominion" was proposed by John A. MacDonald (who found it in the bible) and it was adopted as the best option. In the time since Canada attempted this domestic self governing model in 1867, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, Newfoundland and India have all adopted the model (for a short time at least) but have since moved past it and become fully self governing states.

SCAM 1 - there is NO company in the UK called Dominion Petroleum 2 - There is NO prize that informs winners by SMS. You would have had lottery representatives come to your home in person 3 - there is NO lottery that you can win if you did not BUY a ticket 4 - the ONLY legal lottery in the UK paying British Pounds is the National Lottery and is ONLY open to legal UK residents who BUY a ticket from a news agent in the UK. If you pick the winning numbers then you have to take your ticket back to the store where you bought it or call the number on the back 5 - there is NO remittance of the prize or anything you have to do - the lottery would send a representative to your home if you really won and give you a cheque
