Teachiing constitutional issues to 12th graders how do you limit it to 2 weeks? 2 hours would not even cover current constitutional events!

I would have them group up and each group gets a part of the constitution to have to explain to the rest of the class. Give them 15-30 minutes to do this meeting, then allow about 20-30 minutes for the short presentations. Then have a discussion about how they apply to today's society or have a debate about the freedom of speech or another controversial part.

Ummm since the Bill of rights just got scrapped -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UntkKtyUKk&eurl=
and admendments 4,5,6 of the constitution were scrapped by the Patriot Act - you would have a hard time streching it out to 5 minutes now dude

I used to be a history teacher, back before the internet. I spent 2 weeks on the constitution, certainly with the internet you can spend 2 hours on it. Google is God's gift to teachers.

You need to get them talking using subjects they are interested in. There is a Constitutional Amendment proposed to outlaw rap music and make anyone who is caught rapping or listening to rap music a criminal. (not true but they don't have to know it)Have half of the class argue for the amendment and half the class argue against it. It would even be better if you had those who dislike rap argue for rap and those who like rap argue against it.

if you cover the whole constitution it will take more than
2 hours. my suggestion would be to choose a portion
and cover it. be sure to leave time for questions at the
end because there are always things you forgot to
include or that need clearing up.
