How do I keep a carved pumpking from rotting?

Polish the outside with vegetable oil or PAM. Then carve it. It'll last twice as long. If it's already carved--no problem. Wipe the oil on now.

Rub vasoline on the inside of it. It will keep it from dehydrating.

leave it outside and hope it gets real cold out.
