i have read a few questions with 13 year olds getting pregnant then asking our advice then there are the 13 year olds having abortions and getting pregnant is it just me or have kids gone mad where are the parents what were you doing at 13 i bet it was not getting pregnant what do you think about this

13 is way too young to be having babies! I think the parents are to blame. It seems like most parents today don't care are about where or what their kids are doing. I see 11-13 year olds going out on dates or going out and running the streets unsupervised as if they were 16 and 17. When I was that age (now 28) my parents knew where I was and who I was with at all times. If it was not a school activity or unsupervised outting I didn't go. Sex wasn't something I would even thought about doing at that age anyhow.

Yes, 13 is way too young. They should not even be dating til they are 16 and then with other couples that are responsible. I blame the parents too for this, even 13 year olds need supervision. I was raped at 14 and I was too young to even know even then what was going to happen if I got pregnant. A person should wait until they are 25 before they start having children, by that time they could be out of college and have a good job to support a family.

You question should be "does anyone think that 13 is NOT too young to have a baby" -- there is nothing about a 13 year old that is ready to have a child. Just because they ovulate, does not make the mentally, emotionally, or physically ready.

Some parents have to work which makes it hard to be home and monitor their kids. But, what is really lacking is providing these kids with some morals, so that even if both parents are working you don't spend your afternoons screwing your boyfriend.

But, that has to start much younger than 13.

I think 13 is very young to have a child. It is also in the range where a females body is most fit to carry a child. Of course I think that was decided back when there were planned weddings and the women were getting married at that age. If a female does get pregnant around that time, god bless her and I hope that she has a strong support group behind her wheather it be family friends or even the boyfriends family. My mom actually had me 2 days before she turned 13 -- I'm 23 and my mom is 36 -- we r the greatest of friends now but i know it was hard on her

I think its awful that a 13 year old would consider having sex. Parents need to be educating their children more. When I was 13 sex and babies was certainly not on my agenda!!! And that wasn't that long ago! Children seem to want to grow up far too quickly. Sex under the age of 16 is illegal anyway but nothing is done about it if girls are pregnant, on the other hand a boy the same age can be put on a sex offenders list. Where is the logic here???

13 is absolutly too younge to have a baby. A 13 year old is still a child. I had my first at 19 and that was still too younge. Parents are not involved with their kids the way they need to be.

Yes I think it is too young, but I don't judge them for it. A lot of young girls get taken advantage of by older men. They are the ones that are to blame. and then the little girl says no don't press charges on him, and the stupid parents don't. I also don't think that a 13 yr old has the ability to predict consequences for their actions..... And why is it always the girl who is horrible, the boy is usually the one who runs off, the girl just ends up with the proof of the encounter. And good for them if they raise it and become a good mother. You would be surprised at how fast you grow up when you have a child...it is sad, but they are not "bad".....

Yes 13 is way too young. When I was 13, I remember having slumber parties and going to slumber parties. The worse we would do (and did get into trouble) was calling and sending pizza's to a teachers house. I can't believe how much things have changed. (18yrs) Its very sad to see girls on here asking if they could be pregnant, asking about oral sex, birth control. I don't know where this world is going. If these parents don't start taking control of their kids we are going to hell in a hand basket.

It seems insane to me, kids having sex at that age seems insane to me, but I grew up in a family and area that were conservative. To some people it's normal. Once some girls I worked with were comparing when they had lost their virginities. One said, 11, the next 13 and the other 14. When I told them I was 19 when I lost mine, they said I was really old. I have always thought I gave in to pressure too young. Just a note, all three of those women had had children when they were teenagers, still children themselves.
