I have a 1995 Dodge Avenger. The radiator cap is located right infront of the engine. Every time i put some coolant in it somehow leaks underneath.it just started. And it smokes too. anyone have any suggestions or info as to what the problem might be. Your info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance.

check the heater control valve it should be on radiator hose on top near firewall. i had a 99 and it blew on me on the highway and i worked for dodge its a common problem with the v6 avengers. hope this helps.

Sounds like you have a bad radiator hose, or a crack in your radiator. Now if it leaks near the front of the engine, you may have a bad water pump.Take it to a garage to have the coling system pressure tested and narrow down the leak from there. If it is an easy fix, then it will be cheaper to repair it yourself, if you have the knowledge.

need some extra info, is the smoke coming from the exhaust or is it steaming from somewhere around the engine compartment, if it is the engine compartment then the problem is up there most likely the radiator or hose, if it isn't coming from the engine compartment then it is probably coming from the exhaust and that means your head gasket is leaking by./

sounds like the rubber seal inside the cap is leaking, just buy a new cap.

I guess u need to get ur radiator & its connecting pipes checked.
