My roommate doesn't have to be up until 8:30 or 10:30 depending on his schedule ( and has Tuesdays off). Every Monday night and some other nights throughout the week. He has his "friend" over. They laugh and talk really loudly in the living room until about 1am, then go up to his bedroom which is right next to mine and have really loud sex til about 4am when she then goes home. I have to be up at 6am. I am a fairly light sleeper and then when he wakes me up in the middle of the night, I get angry and can't fall back to sleep. I have NEVER done this to him. What can I do to block out the noise? I can't sleep with the TV on.

I have talked to him, he just goes on some rant about he'll do what he wants, when he wants, and I need to stop being a b*tch

I am a light sleeper too....you can get a fan to keep right next to your bed. its loud, but you will get used to it and it drowns out aaaall the noise! It was hard for me to get used to sleeping with the fan on, but now I can't sleep without it.... I can't think of what brand it is for the life of me...but it is a small ( 8" across...) black fan with red writing in the middle. it has a small stand so it can go on your nightstand... I hope this helped!! It seriously works great!! My husband snores...thats the reason I got it. So if it helps with the noise of someone in the same bed....it should work for your situation too!

Talk to your room mate about the loudness and see if the two of you can come up with a solution.
Otherwise, do you have ear plugs?.
I'm sure that there can be a way to stop the noise.
It is your place too. You have a right to speak your mind, but in the right way.
If it persists you may have to ask him to leave.
What about ear phones? Put on some soothing music and that may block out the noise.
Best of luck!!

Maybe try some headphones with soft music or soothing sea sounds or something.
Do the same thing to him once or twice see how he likes it.
Find some place to crash monday nights..sleep at a friends house or some where.
Talk to him directly...tell him that you would appreciate if he was a little quieter at night because you have to work in the AM.
These are just some suggestions for you ..I hope you get it figured out. I feel for you, sleep is one thing I cherish most.

ear plugs.
sleeping pills.
Getting so drunk you pass out.
Enter your room ates bedroom and ask if you can join in.
Masturbate wildly and make a lot of noise while they are having sex. ( they would become silent)
Put itching powder in your roomates sheets.
Put a sleeping pill in your roomates drink 30 minutes before you want to go to bed.
Cover your walls with padding and bubble wrap.
throw cold water on them while they are in the middle of it.
call the cops saying your a neighbor and complain about the noise.
take naps in the afternoon to catch up on sleep.

Actually confront your roomate and ask him/her to keep it down because you a light sleeper.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.
