You sure can but I would advice you to remove the laminate flooring first as it's made of wood and just like hardwood flooring, it moves around when the teperatures change. It shouldn't be hard to remove it anyways. Have fun!

Laying tile over laminate flooring is a very bad idea.Laminate floors are designed to give a little bit when you walk over it.Its called a floating floor.Underneath the laminate is a layer of foam like material that needs to be removed before ceramic tile is layed. If you have a wood subfloor you will need to install concrete board before laying the tile.I just put down laminate tile which look like real tile but you would still need to take up the old laminate either way

No . Firstly i would not suggest fixing tiles on-top of laminate , take it up and see what is below , a concrete floor would be the best. If you have a wooden floor then you will need to lay 18mm plywood and screw it to the floor boards @ 400 centers use short screws so they don't damage anything under the boards. This will give you a good base to fix the tiles to.

If the base has any type of movement then the tiles will flex and come off no matter what tyoe of glue you use.

I suggest that you go to B & Q as they sell a laminate flooring that looks like tiles you could just lay that on top or you could get some of the sticky back tiles another quick fix. Good Luck

You didn't mention what type of tiles, but the answer to your question is no. For all of the reason the people here have mentioned. The laminate has to come up for any type of new flooring to go down, with the exception of carpet, and even then you will have to go with a direct glue down, no padding unless it's an attached pad carpet or you use a double glue down installation (glue the pad, then the carpet to the pad) and that is a certain expensive type padding only. Take out the laminate.

I don't know any tile guy that would dare put tile down over laminate. The top layer of the laminate can lift and so does the tile

If you do that, make sure the laminate floor has not started to peel up off the floor on the edges, and then put subfloor over it, I wouldn't reccomend putting anything directly on the laminate. Happy project!

laminate floors are usually floating - not nailed or glued to sub floor but float on a thin pad- not a good mix for tile. not that hard to remove laminate/pad to get down to solid sub floor

I knew a guy who had the same idea, he lifted the laminate, and found an original wooden floor underneath. He got it professionally sanded and varnished, and ended up with a floor to die for.

Not advisable and I would say not to. Would it not be better to lift the laminate flooring first, you may find a treasure of a floor covering lurking underneath.
