I like the IDEA of having a baby. When I wouldn't risk seeing a child my potential girlfriend had, cuz too painful both ways, then she was there saying "Hi, my mom will be right there." Ok, then I saw a person who needs a strong decisive sane dad or at least a substitute. Then I think for a year both ways about how that would be and if I could do it. Would I like it? Could I handle it? Things like that. I decide it would be a very nice thing mostly but would also be a lot of work and would take much effort. Then the relationship is in flux. Then she has to remind me she has a daughter. Once bitten twice shy. Family outings to start it, or its just imaginary I think.
