Since it's only a buck - Use a hot water process - first wash the item while it is still wet fully immerse in a bucket that you have filled with hot water 2 packets of dye and 2 cups table salt allow to soak 30 minutes stirring occasionally, rinse completely in cold running water and air dry- the dye may come out uneven but it will be mostly the color. 100% poly is tricky and will come out strong in some places and faded in others - I have tried many methods and this is the closest you will get - it does great for a ghoul or zombie though. Good Luck!

Tried to reply to question but your email is unconfirmed: here is my reply: "Yes any fabric dye will work and the salt is crucial it fixes the color. Be sure to wear gloves and I would do this in the yard or garage somewhere the dye won't be noticed if you spill. Hope it turns out."

No you cant. Polyester is a sort of plastic so would not have organic fibres to absorb the dye it in simple terms maintains to be on the exterior and washes on the instant out. it could in basic terms be dyed whilst it quite is interior the making and in a melted condition then the dye will combination in yet after that it wont artwork.

Polyester is a synthetic material and may not hold the dye as well as natural fibers do. However, give it a shot anyway, it might hold some of the color. Follow the directions on the box/bottle of fabric dye, which you can get at any store that sells fabric. Good luck, but don't hold your breath and getting the color you want.

You can't dye polyester, the colour is put into it during manufacturing of the thread/fibre that the dress is made up of. Dyeing it will just make a mess.
