i am on birth control and i have had a boyfriend of two years, so when we have sex we dont use a comdom. about a week ago we had sex the whole week before my period and when i was on my period. i take my birth control religiously beause i know that i am not ready for a child. my boyfriend is in the marines and he is leaving for iraq in January for a whole year, so we would both be heartbroken if i ended up pregnant right now. My boyfriend left me about a week ago to go back to north carolina where he is stationed, and for about 5 days now i have been having what feels like menstral cramping in my lower stomach and also in my back. i have also noticed some light blood when i wipe. it isnt pink, it is really dark and thick. i have been looking up the symptoms of both pregnancy and miscarriage, but i really have no idea to tell which has happened to me, or even what has happened at all since im on BC. and since i just had my period i cant get a pregnancy test done for another few weeks.

Unfortunately I cant tell you if you are pregnant or if you miscarried.I've had two miscarriages and not all women have pain and cramping. With my 1st I was 16 weeks along and had a terrible headache. When I went in to see my Doctor he did a ultrasound because we couldn't find a heartbeat and the baby had already passed.I had no bleeding. No signs of anything going wrong. With my 2nd I was 10 weeks and was at work. When I went to the bathroom I was bleeding like I had just got my period.I'm also pregnant with my 3rd and was on b/c and got pregnant.I took it religiously also but, I was taking another medication that counter acted my b/c.Best thing to do is get a blood serum test to find out if your pregnant. If not discuss with your Doctor what could be going on.Stress can be a big part of it.Its hard to believe how much control our body's can have over us.

You can still take a pregnancy test just in case. The best thing though is to see a Dr. Miscarriages can be very different for each person too.

My guess would be your nerves are messing up your system. It's amazing how much control our body has over us even if we don't want it to! I'd still go ask a doctor, but I would think you'd be in WORSE pain if that was the case. May it not be. Think positive that it is not and you just need to give yourself some time to relax and breathe slowly...meditate.
