Start small. Ask her simple, open-ended (as opposed to yes/no) questions that are non-confrontational. Buy her token gifts. Occasionally send her a card or email that says, "Just thinking of you." Make frequent, brief contact with her and don't pressure her. Give her time and keep your expectations low. Don't get defensive even if she acts angry with you. Do those things to start with, play it by ear, and communication will grow over time.

What are your intentions? I would think you'd have to grovel and beg, no big gifts though, just blood sweat and tears. Oh - and appologize dumb$hit - that's what women are always waiting for. Say it, explain it, mean it - for her sake not yours. Then leave the ball in her court. She will most likely get curious and initiate further contact - if not, at least you tried.

Its not going to be easy and you are going to have to let her make the move but you can let her know you are there for her and when ever shes ready you'll be there to talk to her

take her shopping. Kids are shallow and selfish. Cater to that, and then start to bond under happy circumstances.
If she catches onto your dasterdly plan, just appologize and say you want her to know you care, and that you are showing it the way you know how, and the way she can really appreciate.
