Cigarettes, and liquor kill more people than weed ever did. They're taxed and regulated. It makes good sense to legalize weed. You'd get a weighed quantity. A regulated quality. And put the street corner dealers out of business.

However you vote, just remember that a yes vote doesn't mean it's legal to be under the influence while driving, or at work for most jobs. It would suck to go to Vegas for the weekend, light up, have a good time......all to go to work Monday and have a random pee test cost you your job.
Also, if legalized you will see more accidents involving under the influence of marijuana just as you do alcohol. You just don't have as many now because it's illegal. Legalize it and you just open up a whole new issue to deal with.
Now go vote anyway you want, it's your right

Vote yes. It's possibly safer to drive stoned than drive drunk - although time will tell. Let Nevada experiment with this new law and we in other States can then learn from the results.
Also you inevitably lose your money there while gambling. Why not at least be able to be legally stoned, drunk and screwed blue in the bargain.

I'd vote for it if I lived there, but am curious how they will get around the federal laws when Nevada's Department of Taxation sets up procedures to license and regulate marijuana growers, distributors and retailers.

Its not like alchohol is illegal and that kills many many many many people each year, people just can't handle thier liqour but they still get to buy it and beat thier wives, wreck their cars, have illegimate children, rape scanitily clad college students, or drink thier livers into a coma.... so whats the big deal with weed???
not to mention at least there are products that can be manifactured from the stalk of the plant...
we have more to gain than lose.

I don't smoke weed (although if my arthritis pain continues to increase, I wouldn't rule it out at some point) but I would vote to legalize it because:
we spend so much money looking for roaches in ashtrays when our police force needs to be free to stop the BIG DRUG trafficking, the drunk drivers, guns on the street, domestic violence, and weapons in school. So much manpower, working hours, and taxpayers' money could be better used.

I think this will be good for the states economy. The tax revenue alone is more than incentive for the legalization of marijuana. This will be a test bed for sure.. sparky

Might as well tax it and make money from it.
Besides, it does have medicinal purposes.
Win-win situation.
As if I didn't have enough reasons to love Vegas.
