There is not an official language of the United States. Eighty-two percent of the country speaks English, while eleven percent speaks Spanish, the other percentage is considered miscellaneous.
There is a requirement to understand rudimentary English before receiving citizenship to the US.

Official? Not yet but are you working on that? If so, please use the UPPER case form of letters to start a sentence. And the names of people, places, and languages like English, French, Italian, Chinese, etc.
