I work for a home builder and see thousands of windows installed. Condensation is normal as long it is on either the outside or inside. If you have double pane windows and it is in between the panes, then you have a problem. Condensation forms when there is a larger difference in temp. and humidity between the outside and inside of the house. You can control it a little bit by adjusting the temp and always have air circulating inside the home (fans or air handler). Also you need to wipe the condensation off as much as possible as to be sure not to get the drywall around the window too wet.

If the air inside has a high humidity and the window temperature is at or below the dew point you will get condensation. Normally you want the humidity inside in the winter between 40-50% at 70 degrees. If you are still getting condensation the windows are not insulating very well.

The condensation between the panes means that the seals on the windows are defective. If there is condensation only on the inside of your home on the glass that is wet to the touch this points in the direction that your home has high humidity which can cause mold growth and other issues. I would recommend a dehumidifier. Thanks. Zack Fuelling
