These days rape is treated as the serious crime it is by police forces. If your friend is scared of her partner then it is even more important for your friend to contact the police.

All forces are required to have officers trained to deal with domestic violence.

If your friend doesn't inform the police, it may happen again to her or to another woman.

Domestic violence currently claims the lives of around two women a week in the UK.

stop this man now

Just let her know that you will be there by her side all the way through it if needed, and by not coming forward this will continue and the guy will have gotten away with it. If she has a younger sister then he could go after her next. You should also call a crisis center and see if they have better advice. Good luck.

you should call the rape crisis hot line in your community they are really good about talking to victims about reporting what happened, they can also tell her where to go other than that it is really her decision, just make sure she realizes what she is doing by not saying anything, that person is still out there and can do this to other innocent people, not only that but she needs to think about the long term effects not saying anything could have on her---hope this helps

You need to give her all the control she needs, as it has been taken away from her.

Maybe suggest that she gets checked out at the local A and E (ER) department, they normally have rape professionals about.

Make sure you get some help to as it will be hard supporting her.

Let me know how you get on!!!!

Try to take out that scare from her. Forcible rape must be reported to the police. She must be worried about her status in society. You can speak to the police and request to keep the matter secret as far as possible.

try to explain to her that if she doesnt then this creep will go free, and do the same thing to someone else, and cause them the kind of pain he caused her. offer to go with her to the police too...it might help her to know she wont have to be alone. and also explain to her that if she puts him behind bars then she wont have to worry about him still being out there looking for her. just be very kind and understanding. sometimes women are just to afraid, and wont listen to what anyone else has to say, and you cant force her. if thats the case, then just let her know that you're there for her...which is one of the most important things you can do for her right now....just keep that in mind--good luck

Going to authorities after a rape is a very stressful and difficult choice. Be there to support your friend -whatever her choices are. That's what she needs you for, not your bullying to do what YOU think is best...

She needs to make up her mind. She doesn't need to let him get away with it, but the longer that she waits, the evidence that a rape kit can detect go away. She needs to go ahead and report it.
