It's simply old blood. Blood has hemoglobin in it which makes it like to stick and clot and sometimes it doesn't all come out right away. It may sound gross but having sex in the shower helps break that stuff up and pull it all out. Another thing, be sure to stay well hydrated. Your body actually retains water for this reason, so do it a favor and drink plenty of water.

If there's no discomfort or pain, you should be fine. Remember, your period isn't going to be the same every single time. Like the other girls mentioned, it could be from added stress, or perhaps you've changed your diet slightly? Either way, I (and probably many, many other girls) have had the same thing happen. Sometimes my period tapers off in a brown gooey mess, and sometimes it just stops dead with red. If you are really worried though, or if it starts pushing 2 weeks, I would go check with your Doctor. I wouldn't worry too much though.

It may be normal...I think we have all had the brownish red stuff...if you are under stress right now, it can make your cycle last longer. If you are still concerned by Thursday, call and go to the Dr. before the weekend for your piece of mind. If the flow gets heavier you don' t want to risk anemia. Good luck.

It's sounds like it's "old blood". I get that too after the bright red new blood. From one period to the next your body doesn't flush out all the blood so the next time you get a period that's when the old blood flushes out along with the new blood. If it hurts, see a dr.

It would be a good idea to go to the Dr. Even if it's just to set your mind at rest don't think that you are wasting time it could be important but until you get the peace of mind you will worry so don't waste your energy get it checked!

Don't worry! This is normal. I have the same thing toward the end of every period. It is just the last part of the blood on the wall of the uterus.

I think it's normal for ur body to do that. U could ask doctor or a parent (if ur a teen) to make sure.
