No, the pill doesn't have an effect on fertility (except of course when you are taking it). I've known people who got pregnant the first month after going off of the pill, and I've known people who only missed on or two pills out of a pack and end up pregnant. If you have problems getting pregnant then it's caused by something else, not the pill. Just keep in mind that some people take up to a year to conceive a baby, with or without prior birth control pill usage. And Dr.'s don't consider you as having a problem unless you've gone a year or two without conceiving. Good Luck, if you're trying, I hope you are a parent soon.

Research has shown that taking the pill does not affect fertility. I took it for five years before conceiving my first child. I got pregnant after being off the pill for only six weeks!

It all depends on a womans cycle. I have heard of women who get pregnant right away after being off the pill for a month. For me it took almost a year, but I was stressed out with work and all. call your doctor, maybe he/she can give you bit more information about it.

I've heard yes, but for the most of it - they're (doctors) are talking about being on it for YEARS! 10 or more. I was on it THEN had four babies afterwards. Only one had problems and it was because of his druggie dad (divorced him soon after baby's death). Other than that - all are healthy, ornery and well!
