Remember the difference in a replacement window.A replacement does not have a lip around the window to attach with screws from outside and has no lip for your siding to slide under.A new construction window has this lip around it . A replacement will work fine but you need to look at both windows before making the final purchase because they are installed different.Both are equal in performance but you will need to select the right one for the best inatallation.The replacement will require J channel

They are well worth it if you have aluminum frame windows or single pane glass in any type of frame.
