Why have the Jews been persecuted so much throughout history?

I don't understand this. I mean why do people want to kill Jews? And why can't the Muslims be more like us when it comes to religious acceptance? I am Prodestant and have a friend who is Catholic, yet we don't try to kill one another!

A lot of people have been persecuted through history, not just Jews. The main difference seems to be that the Jews keep bouncing back from each persecution and achieving enough to be worth persecuting again. The Incas and Aztecs were persecuted by the Spanish Conquistadores, but haven't rebounded enough to be worth oppressing for Mexico. After taking away the land of Native Americans, they aren't worth oppressing anymore. Maybe the casinos will change that.

To be oppressed, all a class needs is to have something worth stealing, without any political power to defend it. Once everything has been taken, the oppression generally stops, at least until they have something again.

Every class is a candidate for oppression. That's why we need to try to stop it.

It's cause Jews are held responsible for the death of Jesus. To Muslims, Jesus was a prophet. Although they don't recognize him as God's son, he's still an important figure. The one thing that all Monotheistic religions can agree upon is that God exists. Although I consider myself a Christian, I guess most people would consider me closer to an atheist. I only accept that God exists and that Jesus died for our sins.

Why can't Muslims be more like us with religious acceptance? They are in fact just like us. There have been countless wars between Protestants and Catholics. There have been countless wars between Islam and Christianity. Most people, like you and me, don't give a damn about what other people believe. That's why you can accept other religions.

People will always persecute the Jews because GOD sent his son, Jesus to the jewish people. Satan doesn't like that. You will find that there will never be peace until GOD comes here and finally makes it all right again. Not all Muslims kill and not all christians are peaceful. Question should be, Why can't we all just get along?

and i think you've both grown. I'm very proud, considering that i want to kill almost everyone (because everyone annoys me, not because of our religious disputes ;-) but your right. Jews were ridiculously persecuted. One glance at history tells us this. I'm actually a history/psych major so i was pretty baffled by that, too. who knows why people hate indiscriminately? its enough that there are people out there like you and me who are aware of it. The overwhelming majority of muslims are accepting of other religions and ways of life. Don't blame the majority for the actions of a small percentage of nutjobs.

They are God's chosen ones. No one specified what they were chosen for, so some think they were chosen to persecute. Others are jealous because God chose them so they hope if the Jewish population is anihilated they will get chosen. Not much fun to be chosen, though.
