my story is a harry potter fanfic, and it is very dark with suicide and drugs and cutting.

It really isn't good to ask people on a website about what they think. If you are serious about having your book or material published by a publishing company, then you should take it to them so that they can review the material. It is mostly up to them because they have agents and analysts who know what the market is looking for, whether it be fiction or non fiction. Yours would technically fall under non fiction - drama and even self help.

It also depends on who you are trying to market your story to, whether it be youth or adult. Youth covers everything from ages twelve and up to eighteen actually. Everything else after that is adult related material. If you aiming for youth then you need to be very careful how you go about writing such text. You may wish to seek an agent and ask for professional advice on writing such a book.

If you are looking to publish an auto-biography, then you should sit and carefully review your life's events before writing something about yourself.

Good luck to you in your task.
