Why do international students attending american universities usually pay more tuition fees than american students???

It seems unfair that they have to pay more but I think the government is just taking advantage of foreigner. If you go to hollywood they are selling souveniour for a higher price to foreigner.
Since american lives here, they have more priorities than foreigner.

American students who attend universities outside their home state pay the same in tuition fees as international students. The only time an American student saves money is when they attend a state school in their home state where they are a resident. Universities are state run and not Federal.

its the same all around the world, students have to pay more if they are not residents in the country they are studing

I wanna know that too, even puertoricans who have U.S citizenship. They have to be residents to pay less.
