Any number over 20 in French is made up by just combining whatever is in the 10s column followed by whatever is in the 1s column. So 35 is simply "Thirty Five" or in this case Thirty which is "Trente" and Five which is "Cinq". Thus, 35 is simply "Trente Cinq".

Just memorize the numbers from 1 to 19 and the numbers for 20 30 40 .. to 90, and you are good to go. If you repeat them to yourselves 10 times in a row and then try to repeat them back without looking at your page, you could have them memorized with less than 10 minutes of homework time.

Good Luck.

I'm guessing you remember the numbers one through ten. What I always did to remember them was to think, "since deux is two and douze starts with at d, you just add a one in front." for trois, they both start with a t. I always messed up quartorze and quinze, i just tried to remember that quartorze was longer than quinze, and then remembered that the longer one came first. for seize it's kind of easy because six is six, and seize and six both start with an s. it's a lot easier if you can just put the two together, meaning the 1-10 numbers and and 11-19 numbers. hopefully this helped.
