I've taken batteries on countless flights, and there has never been a problem. The best thing you can do is put them in your carry on luggage, and see if airport security will let you take them aboard the plane. If not, the worst that will happen is that they will take the batteries away and you will need to put them in your checked luggage. Just ask when you get there!

it may help to specify which government you're touching on, as a results of fact the lists are actually not the comparable in all circumstances. the U. S. Transportation protection administration, for example especially states that unfastened lithium batteries could desire to be carried onboard the airplane in hand-carried luggage -- they can't bypass into checked luggage. This particular rule, despite if, in ordinary terms applies to flights in the U. S., and is probably no longer the comparable rule as different governments with regard to this merchandise. EDIT: the united kingdom's prohibition on batteries applies in ordinary terms to moist batteries (which incorporate motor vehicle batteries), and to no longer lithium or different comparable batteries. Their finished checklist of banned products is in the 2d link under.

Have you thought about buying a "pluggable charger"? They use a regular wall socket.
I think batteries are on the excluded list for carry on luggage for Americans flying out. Check with your airline for a list of prohibited goods.

Better keep it in the check in luggages. Batteries are associated as a detonating devices for IED. Better avoid airport hussles.

Because of everything that has been going on lately, I would not put them in hand luggage. I would either put them in you suitcase, or buy some when you get to America.

I am not sure I would contact the airline and see what they say because they are being really strict about what's going on ever since that scare in London.

There is a possibility you can take batteries if they are still in original, sealed package. Otherwise, no.
