Step 1--
Retrieve the diagnostic codes from the ECM, for instructions for the procedure, go here-------->

With the codes in hand, follow the proper diagnostic and repair procedure outlined in a repair manual.
Step 2--
complete repairs as needed based on logical diagnostics and procedures.
most likely cause for the no-start is the failure of the cam/crank sensor assembly on the front of the engine at the harmonic balancer area. The can sensor may be positioned above the balancer.
If the code returns a cam sensor failure, TEST the sensor. These G.M.s occasionally lose the magnet that is positioned in the block behind the cam gear. If this is the case, the magnet will require replacement.

It could be a crank position sensor i have a 92 buick3800 it started as a stumble then one day i drove it some were and i came out it would not start got ride home then came back for car to tow home it started right up if it has tach will the tach bounce or it stays still if it dont work that one inducation of crank sensor gone bad the book said a stumble or stalling after reaching operating tempwhat are some of the codes your getting

Sounds to me like the stater went bad. It is located on the distributor. The other thing to check would be the cap itself and the rotor button, inside the cap. these will be cheaper than the stater and easier to change.
