I was shocked at how bad it was, and felt let down once again. Dose anyone think it was funny? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!

It raised over $2M and still counting as iTunes are available for the download at $1.99 per download for the next 20 or so days.

Yes, it was intended to entertain the audience. And they did a good job. But the point of it was three fold.

1. raise awareness on a national level
2. raise money for new schools to open their doors and to help those who teach autistic children.
3. entertain.

It is hard to do a bit and then stop in the middle of the bit to talk about a serious issue. I think the reason why Seinfeld was as good as he was is due to the fact that he ran a 5 minute comedy segment and didn't talk about autism.

If you are a parent of an autistic child, or at the event, you would be floored by what was accomplished.
If you were at home anticipating 2 hours and 15 min of rip roaring comedy, then I can understand your disappointment.

There should be more people like Michelle and Robert Smigel in this world that can pull something like that off and help so many people.

The problem is, how can you make an evening dedicated to raising funds and raising awareness of something as sad as autism and its awful increasing numbers a FUNNY event?
It should have been a symphonic, or musical event, not a comedy event.
Even Jon Stewart couldn't save it

I don't think it was meant to be funny but to raise money for Autism. I think it went well on the fact that they raised around $200,000 I think...didn't they? I know it was alot

I respect their attempt, but it fell flat. I really was expecting better out of all of those comedians. I did enjoy the guest appearance of Seinfeld though.
