It is not easy for people living in a poor country.

Sweetie Poo,

What if your father was Bill Gate? Would your life be much easier than most of others.

I think , to the whole system, (from our creator's point of view) it is called predetermination. But to each individual, it is better called luck.

What if the (emotional or physical) strength of a person is also determined by our DNA genetic codes.

Everything is about luck or put another way, a culmanation of certian specific events to produce a result in our favor......

I noticed on CNN a show about brain mapping on gifted children to see whether they share similar brain charcteristics e.g. size or activity patterns.....basically, it looks like smarter people need few impulses from the brain while dumber people require more impulses. The more frequent and erratic the impulses the lower the intelligence....hocus pocus. We don't know what creates genius? Is it good genes (partly but how do you explain the differences btw siblings or a family), is it environment (well that has something to do with it but even the most disadvantage upbringing can create highly intelligent and successful people e.g. most CEO's of a fortune 500 company did not attend an ivy league school).......

Okay, point: IS in fact IQ determined soley by DNA? No.

Identical twins can have the same DNA pattern yet have two radically different IQ ratings.

We can't choose our parents, BUT: we CAN choose to disassociate ourselves from parents and birth country. Loads of people abort familial relations based on belief, and or counter belief. e.g. If my parents were bigots, and I was educated by someone who wasn't would I choose to be a bigot? No. I (underline) wouldn't (read didn't), but someone else might.

I also live in Canada, we have several expatriats here, who left a certain south of the border nation due to conflict of belief.

We CHOOSE how to handle things that come our way. Or NOT handle them (also a choice).

Now, as to your initial question: I do not believe in luck. I believe in a plan (God). Easy answer: he set the whole ball of wax rolling... BUT (trick question) he went and gave me FREE WILL - crap. Now what do I do?

He has given me the tools (DNA, IQ etc) Now I have to choose how, why and whether or not to use them. For what purpose? My choice I guess.

What do I do with it?

The best that I can and that's all.

It may be due in a small part to the genetic make-up of the individual. Mostly however it comes from the character of the person and whether they choose to persevere. To not surrender to their poor situation but choose to overcome it and better themselves. Progress is sacrifice, it is choosing a path and doing what you need to do to achieve it within moral parameters.

Using the analogy of our brain and DNA as the CPU of your computer, and the mind as the operation system; You can have the fastest CPU available, but with out an operating system that is compatible it doesn't work that well. So, the mind that runs the brain has nothing to do with parents, birth country or luck. It's how much consciousness you allow to stream into your mind.

It actually gets worse than that. Our nature/nurture complex get heavily into the mix. Like it or not we are hard wired in many ways. Add to this the predetermination of object vectors and you have the appearance of choas e.g. random luck.

The thing is that having good genes doesnot determine success or life choices. I could be the smartest man in the world, and just sit on my chair and watch EPL.

Or am i just completly off the argument?
