Yes. I met Brian on Black Planet.com although to this day he swears that we met on match.com. Nevertheless, because they are so many crazies on the internet and I do have a 6yr old daughter to protect, I had to take my time and make sure this was the right thing to do. I've always felt as a single mother that my choices dont just affect me, but my daughter as well. So for months all I did was talk to him over the phone and the internet. Then one day, he insisted that we meet, claimed he couldnt wait another day. I agreed to it, but not at my home of course. I had him meet in at Blockbuster, while my daughter was in school. My first reaction was not a good one, because he wasnt exactly a hunk, but I didnt show him that, I was nice to him and we had a good time together. I'm 41, and I usually dated men younger than me, but the relationships wouldnt last but a couple of months, so I was feeling like younger men didnt know what the hell they wanted. I decided to give Brian a try, because he is ten yrs older than me and more settled. The more time we spent together and the more I got to know him, the fact that he wasnt all that hot no longer was a concern of mine. His personality and the way he treated my daughter and I, made him look like a hunk in my eyes. To make a long story short, we have been living together for almost a year now, my daughter just adores him and vice versa and I love him to death. In my case the saying, "Never judge a book by it's cover" is definitely right. Be blessed.

My wife and I met over the internet on Yahoo Personals actually.
It was New Year's Day 2003 and I was tooling around on the net and saw that I had something in my personals box. It was a one-liner that said am I your type? So I replied lets find out. Two weeks later we had our first date. The next night I met her parents. 7 Months later I proposed and she said yes... We are married going on 18 months. I love her and am glad that we both gave internet dating a chance. The amazing thing is that her best friend dated my neighbor for a time yet we never met. So it's possible to find something really good out there.

Yes! My husband and I met on ICQ in 2001. We both lived on the other side of the world from each other and neither of us were looking for love. We became good friends then after talking online daily and on the phone weekly we met in 2004 and fell in love. We were married this past December and now have a 3 month old daughter. He is the love of my life and I have never been so happy! I believe it was fate that brought us together. :)

I have! my mother is a representative for Soulmate.com. and she asked me to sign up because Hey I am her single daughter well i did reluctantly because who wants to date online it seems so desperate and pitiful.. well i did anyway i was like eh I'll just sign up and i won't mess with it.. well i started getting emails and notifications and it almost became a game.. Then I met my current boyfriend (so my soulmate) and the moment we started talking it was like a part of me that i had been missing for sooo long was finally back. and a friend of mine told me (when i told her how we met.. about her daughter and her husband meeting online and they have been married for I think she said 5 or 10 years i know it is really off but it was a long time.. I was really amazed until you get on you never know. So check out the site it's neat and free!

I met my common law husband online five years ago in november. I saw his picture initially on yahoo personals and thought he was hot but never contacted him there because I dont subscribe. Than I by chance spoke to him in a chat room. (He messaged me) We met a few nights later after talking on the phone for an hour. WE talked online mabye for an hour. Then that friday we met, and it was love at first sight for me. I think I actually told him I loved him and it didnt send him running for the hills amazingly enough. Besides him I have never told a guy I loved them, even though ive gone out with numerous guys. A year after meeting we moved in together, and a year after that he bought me a ring, and we broke up a month after that and he moved away for a year, and then after that year I got pregnant with our daughter who I just had six weeks ago, and now we are living together. That is my online romance story. yay.

yes. 2 year engagement because he had to finish school. he is from india, i am from the states. we were just chatting, and became the bestest of friends. i never believed in online dating... a friend talked me into signing up on yahoo and several other dating services. he was the only one, that caught my attention- he was not a pervert, and was and still is a perfect gentleman.
it varies - everyone has different opinions and different situations. keep an open mind. there are jerks online as well as in person.
