First off, sure the mother made the choice to have sex but why does it always have to be the sole choice of the woman what about the guy who helped her out in the first place. Why can't they take a little fault in the situation??I mean sure the women is the one who has to give birth to the child but she couldn't get pregnant without the guy's semen in the first place!!And to answer your question smart women know abortion should be legal because we should have a choice in this matter just like guys have the choice to just walk away like the child doesn't even concern them. Why do we have to always get stuck with the short end of the stick??Plus we also know there will be tons of chicks who will find another way to do it anyways and will end up dead or seriously hurt as a result of it.And i don't think a guy who has no idea what it's like to be a woman at all should have any opinion about this situation!!!!

Just out of curiosity....did you happen to see what the population of the country has reached? What about the population of the world. Yes, abortion should not be used for birth control, but dayum...this world is NOT going to continue to support the rapid population growth! If someone doesn't want to have a baby, don't make them. Would you rather they grow up (or try to grow up) in a home where they are constantly abused? I mean hell, there was just a court trial last week up in Detroit where a woman viciously murdered one of her children (he died a slow death really over a week or more) and her husband did nothing because he was scared of her. Or perhaps the mother doesn't want the baby and scared to death to tell anyone and gives birth and a few hours to a few days later a passerby finds this now dead infant in the trash. Yes...these things happen now...but make abortion illegal and how much more frequently will situations such as the above happen? Oh yeah...and sure, babies can be put up for adoption...but is there really any gaurantee that the child will be safe with their adoptive family? No. Adoptive parents can be just as bad, sometimes even worse.

Your logic is faulty at best. (It's not a refrigerator?! THAT'S the best you could come up with? It's a cluster of cells (in the first trimester) that in no way resembles a human. It's not even self aware. Just read a biology book. It's simple really.
BTW, I've observed that most men who oppose abortion have issues with women. They are either right out misogynists, or resent women for some reason or another. I'm not saying this is ALWAYS the case, but it is frequently enough for it to be more than a coincidence. Why is that? This is an issue that I believe most men will never understand, so...BUTT OUT!

Abortion is not always to make someones life more convenient. Sometimes it is necessary for health reason or maybe the mother was raped or some other personal reason. Personally I would never have an abortion unless it was for necessary health reasons (even then it would pain me) because I would never be able to live with myself but I don't feel that I have the right to tell others what they can and can not do. Murdering a 1 year old is different than abortion. A one year old is self aware, do you really think a 2 month old fetus is self aware. I am a smart woman and I am Pro-choice.

At the time abortion is legal (first trimester) the EMBRYO in the pregnant woman is not a HUMAN. Yes, it will become a person if left alone, but it is merely a cluster of cells that is prevented from growing. I heard a statement once that always stuck with me: "An embryo is no more a person that an acorn is an oak tree." I must say, I agree.
I believe in abortion is some situations, not all. It is not something I would ever do myself, but I can understand the need for some women to pursue it. I think it is also up to the "father" depending on the relationship.

This is so tiresome. Anti-abortion people want the issue to be about the right or wrong of abortion. People who are not anti-abortion want the issue to be the ability to choose whether to have one or not, letting those who feel it is wrong not have one, and those who feel it is not wrong to have one when they want one.
I agree that abortion is not wrong, up to a certain point. That point is before there could be any question that the embryo has become a fetus.
Constantly pushing the stage at which something is considered a human life farther back can be carried to ridiculous extremes - all sperm are potentially human life, all eggs are potentially human life. It is enough to draw the line at the fetal stage. In pushing the issue back to "potentially human," I get the distinct impression that anti-abortion people are more interested in winning a fight than anything else....

To be clear I am not generally pro-abortion, except where the mother's life is at stake, it is a product of rape, or where a child would be born with a disability which would seriously affect quality of life. I personally don't believe abortion should be used as a form of contraception - you made it, you deal with it.
That all being said, that is only my opinion, and what right do I have to enforce my opinion upon another individual? We each have the right to make out own choices.

In a perfect world we would never have to consider abortion as an option. But the world we live in is imperfect. Until idiots like yourself start realizing that the way to end the need for abortion is through proper education of our children at young ages about sex, and birth control there will still be people in the world who make bad descisions. We should all feel compassion for women who have been faced with such a difficult descision and pray that they survive it emotionally. Judgment is reserved for God to handle. Not you.

Imagine if suddenly abortion was illegal.
Now, there are thousands of babies born to crack whores, lunatics, drug addicts, Jerry Springer guests, hookers, trailer trash who can't afford to take care of a child and even selfish women who don't give a shi# about their baby, but they had no other choice.
The world would be full of unwanted babies being raised by these women. Their lives will probably be horrible and full of abuse and addiction.
Isn't it nicer to send them to live with God? I don't think a baby dying is as sad as a baby living in a terrible, abusive, sad situation.

I believe in the right to choose. I consider myself relatively intelligent. It is important for women to retain the right to choose if they will continue a pregnancy, up to a point. I don't think it should be used as a standard method of birth control. It should only be used in extreme circumstances such as incest, rape or the health of the mother. It should be done as soon after discovery of pregnancy as possible.
It sounds as if you believe only career women choose to have abortions. That is decidedly not the case. In my experience it is single women with too many children who decide to have them. I also don't believe the practice is as prevalent as anti-abortion people think it is. Most pregnant women I know carry their pregnancies to full term.
It is time for people to get off their high horses and stop judging others for decisions they make in their lives. We all fall short.
Try to keep your nose out of where it doesn't belong.
If men such as you are so heartbroken when their girlfriends or wives get pregnant and decide to have an abortion, maybe they should consider getting some form of birth control themselves so it doesn't happen? Prevention, what a concept!
Condoms should be handed out in schools nationwide free of charge for the asking to anyone, male or female, who asks for it.
Oh, but then you might say we are saying it is okay for them to have sex, and we don't want to do that. Time to wake up people. Teens always have and always will have sex. You can't wish it away. Teach abstinence, expect not to have it, and prepare for the worst.
