give it a new g string...it will be as good as new... you are the best player in the world so get it re strung.....

Are you sure you have picked it up properly? Sometimes it is easy to mistake for an imaginary guitar, which of course, you wouldn't be able to hear.
You must make sure there aren't any other sounds to crowd out your air guitar, you must be able to hear what is going on in your head.
