Instead of killing them, why not offer them to others through your local chapter of www.freecycle.org? You can request that the person or persons who want them will have to take them all and dig them up themselves.

Dig them out and give them to someone who wants, at least Hostas. Killing plants with chemical is not good for your yard and digging them out is the easiest & quickiest way to do. Not sure what kind of Hosta plants you have, but Hosta is not cheap to buy at the nursery, if it's a rare kind. There are lots of good slug repelant on the market you might want to try, or try giving them a bit of beer in a empty tuna can to make them drunk and drown in it. Kinda funny, but this works.

I agree with sharing the hostas. Also you can trim down the juniper and then apply kettles of boiling water to kill them It will speed up the proccess and then cover it up with a have mulch. Turn the soil over in a couple of months and then plant grass squares over the lot after you level it of course.

You can dig up the hostas and share with a friend, then cut back the junipers to the ground. Cover the whole area with black plastic and come spring it will be dead organically.

the easiest way : trim them back ,hook a chain on them and pull then out with a truck. for the hostas , share or till them out , you will need to work the bed anyway before planting .
pete
ps use gloves on the junipers , wiat , are they tams or trees ?
trees will need a bit of digging first ,

A broadleaf type weed killer will kill the weeds growing in your lawn and not the grass. Check with your local extension service or garden center. Boiling water and horticulture grade vinegar will kill them too. Safer and less toxic.

Best way is to dig them out. Chemicals that kill vegetation are also harm full to people and pets. Also they pollute the environment. If your problem is slugs, you should try to solve the slug problem by other means.

If you want to kill them without harming the soil use any Glyphosate weedkiller (Monsanto)
BUT, you will still have to dig up their remains. If you want to make your life easy, advertise them as" buyer collects" they should soon disappear.
