Yesterday I bent down and suddenly I head a sharp pain in my back, kind of all around the right area, but not too low or at the spine. Since then its hurt when I move in certain directions and when I breathe in deeply. Is this just a regular back problem that goes away by itself, or is it something else. What I'm concerned about is the breathing in deeply pain... 6 months ago the same thing happened and went away in a few days... Anyone can help me?

Since the location of your pain is to the side and not central (the spine) it is most likely that you "pulled a muscle." Although a pulled muscle sounds benign in relation to a herniated disc, it can be quite painful and take a while to heal. You may try to treat yourself with rest, ice or heat, gentle stretches, and pain medication. If pain does not go away within a few days - seek medical attention. Your physician may give you an actual diagnosis and see if there is a need for diagnostic tests (XRAY, MRI), prescribe medication (pain, anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxants), and refer you to a physical therapist or other allied health professional who can help.

Watch for signs of a more serious injury:
*Signs of nerve damage (go to your doctor if you have):
-- Numbness and/or tingling in the hip or leg
-- Unexplained weakness in the hip or leg
-- Pain radiating down into hip or leg

*Signs of spinal cord damage (go to the ER if you have):
-- Numbness and/or tingling in bilateral (both) legs
-- Unexplained weakness in bilateral (both) legs
-- Altered or loss of sensation between legs, buttocks,
inner and back of thighs, feet and heels
-- Altered or loss of bowel or bladder control

I truly wish I could help you-it sounds painful! But I don't know, all I really can say is that the best help you'll recieve will be if you go to a doctor and have them check it out. Just to be on the safe side. :D
