I just want to know the cost of the materials not the installation of them. I live in northeast TN if that helps.

To rough in a house to minimum code requirement, you are looking at least $2000 for boxes, wire, and panelboard w/o breakers.

In SW Wisconsin it would cost you about $100.00 per square for shingles (a square is 100 square feet or 10' x 10' area). Your roof is larger than the foot print of your house. You need to take into consideration the eves and the pitch. You can figure about $45.00 per square to install new shingles and about the same to take off the old shingles (depending on how many layers. It depends how many layers of shingles you have on your existing roof as to if you need to have them torn off or not. Some areas only allow 2 layers of shingles and some 3, but nowhere that I know of allows 4, but I have seen 4 and more in my day. Not a good thing. Next is there any damage to the underlying wooden deck. I never include this repair as a part of my bid, because you can not tell the extent of damage until you remove the old shingles. Most of the time there is a minimal amount of repair needed on the roof deck. A steel roof requires a minimum of a 5/8" wooden deck. Most modern houses are built with a 1/2" wooden deck. Last time I quoted a steel roof it was about twice the cost of asphalt. It never hurts to ask, most roofers will give you a free estimate.

the costs are relative to what you want to wire in. take a peice of string of a known lenght and use it to pretend wire the house do not reuse any lengths you have used already the wire the house with it and write down all electical boxes and outlets and plug in's and switches and covers. also include screws and tie downs the go to store and add 20 % to figure what you will need
