I say silicone. Less chance for an allergic reaction and they dont break down as rubber nipples do. Rubber nipples can dry out and crack easier than the silicone. Plus the silicone are clear; not that brownish color that the rubber ones are.
Each familiy is different, though, so if you are indifferent about it i'd buy a few of each and try it out on your baby. Let your baby decide whats most comfortable for them to drink out of.
Good Luck.

Silicone are easier to clean and sterilize. Medela makes a microwave sterilizing bag that is an absolute godsend for a new mother, and you can't put the latex nipples in them.
Some babies won't take the silicone ones, though- they are firmer than the latex ones.

I boiled the nipples as quickly as I first have been given them. Now I in simple terms proceed to bathe them interior the Dishwasher. verify you place them on the final rack. there is this little basket which you're able to desire to purchase at Wal*Mart, and you will positioned the Nipples and Caps and stuff in it, and it suits top into the Dishwasher. I never turn the warmth dryer on whilst i'm washing the bottles in there nevertheless. i think of that should smash them.
