Have you tried publicity, fliers, leaflets, promotions? How about contacting the local radio station to promote those events. How about organising a wine tasting evening or hosting some other sorts of events that just get people into the building (slimming clubs, local Women's Institute for AGM's). Write to local businesses about deals or special offers or special event nights etc. Offer a "The Time you walk in is what you pay for your meal" in the restaurant. How about get one night free if you pay for 6 or whatever. These any good? Clare x

Don't know where you are - coastal, resort, inland, UK or wherever.
Here in Cornwall we get a lot of sports clubs come to visit and tour. Bowls and Cricket teams are usually good, well-behaved people who are prepared to spend money at the bar and so on. Golfers could also make good business for you if there are several different courses in easy reach.
The hotels who host the tourists are usually prepared to arrange the entire tour as a package - they organise the week's fixtures, coach transport to and from matches and sometimes a trip to a nearby major attraction such as the Eden Project down here. You can easily get a list of contacts from the local County organisers (Cornwall County Bowls Association or equivalent).
If you come up with something good make sure you get a rise!
Good luck.

It depends on many things I'm working in small old hotel and can tell you that in first you will need to get know your client and your product. What your clients want and what you can give them. It should be affordable but something that will make them fill comfortable and want to come back. Regular clients will give you good and most importantly constant trade. Register with few advertising agents which will work on commissions they have experience and people who works with marketing. Good luck.

Improve the food in the restaurant and make it smell nice as well as taste nice. I ran a restaurant as part of a complex. The smell of roast pork used to get the punters in and we started putting a basket of french fries on the table "free" for larger parties. i used to talk to reps and get loads of free samples of wine. Treat the staff well and tell them how to serve without being servile and make the tips. Keep everything spotlessly clean and hygienic. I had an idiot working in the kitchen - I put him in charge of hygiene (cleaning) it worked out - with patience. Use air fresheners in bathrooms and bedrooms in the hotel and keep the staff happy and encourage them to keep the guests happy.

He could offer a complimentary brunch or breakfast to his steady clientele. That would show them that he appreciates them.
