Typical the retailer has a return policy. Unfortunately I have never heard of a retailer extending their warranty to 9 months. You would have to all the retailer and find out their return/exchange policy. I have done work in retail and accepted and refused returns. Unless a product has been recalled by the manufacturer we never took anything back that was 9 months old. The reason for this is that in 9 months we don't know what that person has done with the product. Granted they may have done nothing and it was just a result of poor quality on that particular item, but there is no quarantee. Typically people return stuff they have broken or is breaking that they have had a hand in helping. Not saying that's the case here, but I wanted to give you some understanding if they don't accept it for a return/exchange. I'd say your best bet is to contact the retailer where the shoes were purchased. Also I hope you have you're receipt. Retailers are much more willing to working with consumers that maintain 'proof of purchase.' To many people try and say they bought it when it turns out it's stolen, been longer time frame then when they say they bought it, or its for someone else. Receipts also guarantee you a better money back situation depending on the store policies for returns. Hope I have helped! Good luck!

Like a manufacturer's warranty, perhaps, but I think you are speaking more about Insurance. And what an interesting concept that would be. I think the answer to your worries is actually the new tracking device stores are you using. I think they're called RFID's and they're like little data chips corporations are installing in products. Very un-American to me, as I have privacy issues with a company or government tracking my every move. But yeah, it may work in your personal situation. Good luck finding that shoe. Clean your bedroom, that always helps me!

Nine months old? No way! That's ordinary wear and tear!
If there's a warranty, it would be included with the shoes.

I'm one of those evil people who will go back and insist that the shoes get replaced. Usually the store you bought the shoes from will exchnage then if it is an obvious workmanship issue. Otherwise, go to the manufacturers web-site and email customer service.

Yes - Clearly showing poor workmanship warrants a refund. Take them back. I've had the same problem with high priced purses..

No, generally they don't. If you feel you have a faulty product, you will need the original receipt. Contact the company. Then, you may be required to send them (the shoes) and receipt directly to them. That is about all you can do.

Happened to me before. I bought a pair of Nike Airmax 2000 and it tore along the stitching after like 3months. I took it back to the shop where I bought it and their reply was, "how we know what you use it to do?" I thought of contacting the main Nike distributor but failed to contact them. You could try contacting the shop which you bought it from, or if fails, try contacting Puma main distributor.

you cant prove it....you could try to write to the manufacturer but i doubt it would help.....also...most of the people that i know go through a pair a year so 9 months of wear and tear would lead me to believe you got your moneys worth....i agree that they should have lasted longer but again - you cant prove anything....you cant even return them after a day if it can be shown that you wore them.....$180.00 lessen learned...next time you drop this kind of $$$$ on something check the quality before you walk out....at least it wasnt a $15000.00 car!...better lick next time
