In response to cheekimadam's answer, actually there is something you can do about it, just talk about it with your bf. My gf gets really horny during and after her period, and while she's on it, we just do it in the shower with a little ky. She says it helps get the blood out and shortens her period by a day. I'm more than happy to oblige :-D

Hi luv!
Oh please don't be embarrased! You should be proud to be a sexual person! So many people are already so repressed sexually due to society's and religions' grasp on people.
The menstrual cycle is a "funny" thing, isn't it? It makes some of us horny as hell, and turns some of us into the iciest b*tches ever! Each woman reacts differently to her period.
The period's cycle happens right around ovulation, that part of the month where our hormones are at their peak; ovulation is when we are more susceptible to become pregnant, and our body reacts by being more horny!
So it's only natural that you feel hornier around that time of the month... Some women (like myself) often become so horny, it's nearly impossible to think of anything else! Good thing I have a handy "hard" hubby nearby to take of all special needs I may have!
So don't worry luv, as it's only normal! The fact you take "the pill", helps to "normalise" the cycle (i.e. make you more regular) and so that also accounts as to why your super-horny periods arrive almost always at the very same time, month after month.
So enjoy your horniness while you can!

It is quite normal my dear!
I will have my wife answer you as well with her own insights on this subject since she is pretty much well-placed to talk of such a thing!
Basically, thanks to my wife, I discovered it is very normal for women to have a high sex drive... It is just part of being human, and although women are brought up to never show their possible libido (as they would be wrongfully labelled as "s.l.u.t.s.").
There's also the "ovulation" period during (or before or after, I am not certain) the period itself which apparently enhances the libido quite a bit. My own wife tends to be more horny right after her periods, which would indicate that what you are going through is deffinatly normal.
If you are embarrased by it, you shouldn't be. Maybe it is due to your up-bringing, or maybe due to your "religion", but there is nothing wrong with being a sexual person and expressing it. I find it worst when a sexually person feels they need to repress themselves in order not to "shock" or "disturb" the prudes around them!
So don't you worry there, my dear, as it appears you are quite a normal (and healthy) human female!
Cheers!

Don't be embarrassed! Having a high sex drive is normal at that age. Hormones are still flying around everywhere especially around your period. It's when your sex drive disappears that you should be worried and start looking for answers. Enjoy it and just be safe especially in this day and age!!!

Whyever should you feel that you are not normal? My sister is 66 and she tells me that her sex drive is still very high. Everybody is different and you should consider yourself lucky to be at the top end of the scale. When you do settle down to marry do make sure that you marry a man with a similarly high sex drive. It can be stressful, difficult to handle and frustrating if you marry somebody at the other end of the scale (as I did).
Good luck, and have lots of fun whilst you can.

Hell yeah. I am right with you on the loving sex all the time thing, I think my boyfriend gets bored sometimes though he never complains. And besides women think about sex ninety minutes of the day and men only sixty so genetically were hornier.

The hormones will slow down pretty soon.. This only indicates you have reached child bearing age and the body does what it does to make sure there are little ones to continue civilization.

dont worry its normal, believe me it's not because your on th pill. It is your natural hormones. When your older you will feel even more horny both before and after your period, and often during it to.
