The Madonna adoption story...?

She is taking a one year-old boy away from his father to live a life of luxury and (possibly) resentment . What do you think?

The part of this I find the hardest to be ok with is the fact that the boy's father has said that he would love to keep him but he can't afford it. Why can't Madonna just stick her hand in her pocket and sponsor the Dad's life to enable him to keep his baby?

Of course celebrities' children have the potential to have rubbish lives, but they have a much better chance of happiness than a malnourished orphan.

Of the many criticisms levelled at Madonna, you won't generally find those in the know slagging off the way she treats her kids. I suggest that we just leave her to get on with it.

And ... publicity stunt? She is the only person that hasn't talked about this. The papers found out, she's refused to do any press on it.

First of all, she didn't "take" the child from his father. I understand he had placed the child in an orphanage. Secondly, I think it's wonderful that someone, anyone, would adopt a child that had the right intentions in mind. Hopefully Madonna has these good intentions in mind.

man,she don't pay my bills, I could care less what she does..She adopted an African kid living in an orphanage, so what, that kid will EAT, and have a better life...with fame comes money, comes power, there are alot of kids who need a good home....she bypassed the red tape, well, more power to her, at least one child who was in need, willl be clean, and fed, and in a warm clean bed tonite, instead of a dirt floor or tent in the middle of a field, with no food, sanitation, running water, no flies buzzing around their eyes and noses, don't give a rat's a** about the political side of it, one child will be clean and fed tonite, while others are sick, starving, and no future......think of the kid, and not the politics, we treat animals better than the African countries treat their people...Kudo's to her for rescuing one child of many.....thank god.....

Yeah, she should give some money to the village, or supply them with clean water, instead of take an infant from his father, who can't support him. She shouldn't feed into the problem, but should instead help TREAT it.

as long as the surviving parent is OK with it, why should anyone else care? The kid will have a great life.
