Yes I would take it as long as she isn't gross and it looks like she hasn't showered in a few days. No, I wouldn't mind wearing it in front of him as long as it wasn't a first date, besides isnt your husband supposed to love you no matter your appearance?

The hygeine issue would be a consideration, but maybe not as much so today. I grew up in the 60s when most girls wore plastic rainhats, and the 'nit nurse' was one of the most terrifying people ever to come to your school.. (Looking back, the nit phobia of that time probably killed off the rainhat as much as anything.) Back then I'd do what the nit nurse and my Mum said, and only borrow one from another girl if it still smelt new and wasn't discolored and was still in its pouch. Besides the dreaded head lice, God knew what else was growing on the plastic after someone had snapped a rainhat shut and stuffed it back in their raincoat pocket (itself not often the most sterile of environments) while it was still wet, and left it there until it was needed next.
Answering the specific question, probably not, because if there was a chance in a million of rain and I was going on a date I'd have an umbrella with me because there's not much that can beat a romantic stroll under a brolly. Also I'd quite likely have my own rainhat because I still have a few for use in umbrella-free places, like sports events.

They must have plastic garbage bags where you work. Put one of them on and just make small slits for your eyes that way you will be able to see and not fall. I used to do this alot when I was in the working force.... You said that a co worker offered you a rain bonnet for some reason your didn`t take her offer. Were you scared of cooties...you always have to cautious about bugs!

I'd take the rain bonnet since I would be looking hot. Therefore not get drenched for my date with my boyfriend.

Do not take anything from anyone if it's already been on their head. But see if there is any plastic at your job, like a plastic bag or even a trash bag something to cover your hair and the top of your face in case you have on make up you dont want it to run.

Sure, why not? It keeps my hair dry until I get to my car. I wouldn't wear it as a fashion statement. Then again, I have been known to walk in the rain with no umbrella and redo my hair later. It's just water, it won't hurt me or my hair.

Thank your co-worker kindly for the offer. Call and ask your husband/date to pick you up at the door. Make his evening worth remembering.
